Consequences of a Society of Fear

I ranted rather angrily about the pervasive and irrational fear in American society a while back.  Now some people have done research about one reaction to that fear - the removal of "dangerous" playground equipment - and seem to think that we didn't do ourselves any favors.  Color me not surprised.
